Week 8: Giving
Today’s Easy Task: Make ourselves more valuable
How to rock this task:
Today's Devotional:
When we keep good records and stick to our budget we are being responsible managers. God owns everything and entrusts us to be responsible managers of His assets (1 Corinthians 4:2). When we borrow anything, it is important that we treat what we have borrowed more carefully than our own things.
God want us to be faithful in managing the small things so He can bless us with much more. Part of being faithful in the small is by being great managers of the things God has blessed us with. God wants us to be diligent when keeping good records, because keeping good records reveals to us the truth about our spending, our earnings and our debts. Proverbs 27:23 mentions the importance of...

Week 8: Giving
Today’s Easy Task: First give ourselves to the Lord and then give God a percentage of our
income
How to rock this task:
Today's Devotional:
How do we rob God? We rob God when we fail to obey God’s instruction concerning giving tithes and offerings (Malachi 3:8). Unfortunately, when we rob God we will be cursed (Malachi 3:9). However, when we test God and give our tithes the organization that build up God’s people and God’s kingdom allow them to grow and not lack food, which leads to many blessings for us (Malachi 3:10-12). However, first we must give ourselves to the Lord (2 Corinthians 8:1- 6). As discussed on day 52, we can’t give reluctantly, but should give cheerfully, because that is what God loves (2 Corinthians 9:7). Where do our priority lie,...

Week 8: Giving
Today’s Easy Task: Show the spirit of giving today
How to rock this task:
Today's Devotional:
Today’s Prayer:
God, we love You and adore You. Thank you for helping us not be attached to our money. Thank you for helping us to not keep our gifts for ourselves so we can experience the benefits of having a generous spirit. Thank you for showing us the importance of having the right attitude when giving. Thank you for helping us focus on doing God’s will with money. Help us to be wise with money while we are using it. Help us to use money to benefit our family and community. Help us the experience the blessing that comes from giving. Forgive us for being unwise with our money and only using it...

Week 8: Giving
Today’s Easy Task: Give our money and time cheerfully
How to rock this task:
Today's Devotional:
It’s so important for us to have the right attitude when giving. 2 Corinthians 9:7 explains how when giving our hearts should be cheerful and not reluctant or under compulsion. It should be a natural part of our routine. When we give our income and our time to God, we are demonstrating how much we value God in our lives (Matthew 23:23). The key is for us to not feel weary or give out of obligation or fear, but give because we want to connect to God and spend time with Him.
The best way to create the habit of giving is by making it a part of our everyday lives. We should include God in our daily activities, when we are exercising, dressing,...

Week 8: Giving
Today’s Easy Task: Determine the gifts that can be shared with others
How to rock this task:
Today's Devotional:
This week is about giving. We will sow whatever seed we have on good ground and God the supplier will give us more (Mark 4:8-9). Seeds are anything God gives us and seeds have unlimited potential, but they must be sown for the potential to be released. We cannot hoard our gifts and keep it for ourselves, because it won’t grow and we’ll miss out on the benefits of having a generous spirit (Proverbs 11:24-25). So let us take risks and actions so God can multiply the gifts He has given us (Luke 6:38). Let’s ask the Holy Spirit to help us give, because He is a multiplier and produces high quality fruit.
Today’s Prayer:
God, You are the ultimate giver. You...

Week 8: Giving
Today’s Easy Task: Allocate at least 10% of income for giving
How to rock this task:
Today's Devotional:
Giving is a realistic way to say we are not attached to our money. It’s a way to break our attachment and show God that we choose Him over money. There are many ways to give. We can give to charities (Deuteronomy 15:11). We can give tithes (Deuteronomy 12:19) and if we read Matthew 23:23 and Luke 11:42 we will see that Jesus endorsed giving tithes.
The great thing about giving is that it enhances the lives of other. There will always be a time to sow and time to receive. So try to budget 1/3rd of your income specifically for giving. Yes, we will be tested in our giving, but just obey God and give him our first fruit. God will make sure we...
